A higher-pace group ride for experienced riders who want to cover a longer and more challenging route at a steady 25–30 km/h pace. We’ll take the train from Munich to Rosenheim in the morning before starting the ride. The route combines significant climbing with faster sections and includes a lunch stop in Kufstein. Riders may spread out on the climbs, with the group regrouping at the tops where necessary.
This is not a relaxed social ride. The expected pace is around 25–30 km/h on suitable and flatter sections, making it suitable for riders who are comfortable maintaining a relatively high group pace over a long distance and significant elevation (approx. 125 km and 2,230 m of climbing). This is not beginner-friendly; participants should have solid road-cycling fitness, good bike handling, and come prepared with adequate food, drink, and repair essentials.

Route Overview & Climbing Sections
- Warm-up & Flat Rollout (km 0–15): Leaving Rosenheim southward along the Inn valley towards Flintsbach am Inn, rolling on fast, flat asphalt roads where the group settles into a steady 25–30 km/h pace.
- Sudelfeld Ascent (km 15–30): Turning into the Bavarian Alps, tackling the primary mountain climb via Tatzelwurm up to Sudelfeld. The climb reaches the route’s high point at approximately 1,120 m. Riders climb at their own pace, and the group regroups at the summit.
- Alpine Transition into Tyrol (km 30–60): Rolling descent past the Ursprungpass corridor into Austria, winding past Thiersee and dropping into the Inn valley with panoramic Alpine backdrops.
- Lunch Stop in Kufstein (km 60): Planned sit-down lunch stop in Kufstein to refuel, refill bottles, and recharge before the second half.
- Rolling Climbs of Niederndorferberg & Samerberg (km 65–110): Heading north from Kufstein through Niederndorf, followed by climbing across Niederndorferberg and Rettenschöss. The group regroups after major climbs, before crossing back towards Nußdorf am Inn and navigating the undulating terrain of Samerberg.
- Flat Run-in to Rosenheim (km 110–125): Fast descent and rolling flat roads back into Rosenheim to finish the loop.
Ride Notes & Pacing
- Group Pacing: On flatter terrain, the group maintains a steady 25–30 km/h pace. This is not a race, but a focused, brisk tempo that requires group riding discipline.
- Climbing Dynamics: On climbs, riders are encouraged to ride at their own sustainable rhythm rather than forcing the group pace. We will regroup at the top of major climbs and designated points.
- Fueling & Equipment: Given the 125 km length and 2,230 m elevation gain, bring ample on-bike nutrition and hydration. Check your tires, brake pads, and drivetrain beforehand. Pack a wind vest or jacket for Alpine descents.
