Eaglet Program 3.0 · Session 3|Real-World Riding
Training Camp 📍 Holzkirchen Bahnhof Fahrradabstellanlage, Bahnhofpl. 9, 83607 Holzkirchen

Eaglet Program 3.0, Session 3. Goal: ride long distances independently.

This is the third of three sessions. Each session needs its own registration. Session 1|Basics & Safety → August 15 (Saturday) Session 2|Group Riding Skills → August 22 (Saturday)

The final session takes everything from the first two and puts it on a real route: long climbs, long descents, fuel stops, pacing. We’ve also invited a few experienced ACC riders and pros to share what they’ve learned.

Completing Sessions 1 and 2 first is recommended, but equivalent group-riding experience also works.

What’s covered

Part 1: Long-distance riding experience

Shared by experienced ACC guides and pro riders:

  • Preparing for 100 km+: base fitness, route research, time budgeting
  • Pacing: avoiding a fast start that leaves you cooked in the second half
  • Fueling strategy: rhythm and stop planning for long distances
  • Reading the weather: what to check before you leave and how to adapt on the road
  • Bike packing

Part 2: Bike maintenance (hands-on)

Everyone should know: cleaning and lubing the chain, checking for wear

Basic repairs: tube replacement, rear derailleur fine-tuning, electronic shifting adjustment, how limit screws work (for understanding, not adjustment), brake checks

Part 3: Gear session

Bike computers, power meters, lights, radar units, bike-packing gear, rain gear, winter gear.

Part 4: Practice ride (60–90 km)

Includes group riding, a long climb, a long descent, and fuel stops, with each participant optionally getting a turn leading the group.

Part 5: Wrap-up

Course recap, Q&A, shared experiences, recommendations for continuing to train.
